New box
Our original Tivo box died so VM replaced it with a V6 box and installed a Super hub 3 at the same time as apparently it’s needed. What’s the purpose of having the V6 box connected to the router?

Re: New box
Internet access for EPG updates, apps such as Netflix and YouTube. Also for interconnection with other V6s or TiVo for MRS. Also for future Internet-based function.

Re: New box
And since the new TiVo and SH3 have been installed the internet is buffering like mad, for example loading Facebook and other content on the smart phones and tablets has really took a dive.

Something is wrong, Phil. Give Customer Services a ring and explain the problem. I am sure they will sort it out for you.

Re: New box
I have lost all faith in VM customer service. Take a look at my thread in the email section and you will see why and it’s still not sorted.

Re: New box
Do the new Tivos still need a Superhub 3? I have my own router and Wifi access point and am using my SHUB in modem mode. While I am perfectly happy to swap out the SHUB, I don't want to lose my own router and be forced to use the SHUB 3 in router mode.

Re: New box
You can certainly continue to use your own router but there is some evidence that it's best to initially set up the V6 with the Hub 3 in router mode.

Re: New box
It depends on your router config, but it'll probably work OK. Netflix tends to be the most problematic thing with standalone routers - let me know if you do have trouble with it and I'll try to advise

Hi mate, I've just posted in the internet forum and then I saw that you had commented in here, so thought I might ask you the same question, which is this-:
Only had SHUB 3 a few weeks now, but I'm finding that the WiFi signal isn't as good as when I had the SHUB 2, it comes and goes, can anyone help or shed any light on what may be wrong?
Thx.

I'm sure there are people in the internet forum that can advise much better than me on that. I only do TV, I'm afraid.

Re: New box
I connected my V6 to my router, I can stream to my tablet downstairs, or stream to my mobile at work
