Well, after reading reviews, looking at comments here a d watching You Tube, I'm going stick with my current modem. I don't need wifi, my connection is solid and I take care of security via software.

If Virgin Media have sent you the Hub 3.0 to replace your existing standalone modem then you need to use it.

Virgin Media have started activity to replace all pre-SuperHub 1 kit, which will include your modem. So even if you weren't sent the Hub 3.0 as part of this, at some point you'd need to swap anyway.

Fair point, they did just send it to me but I think I'll wait until the absolute last minute .

You will have no choice eventually, may as well sort this out now so at least you can enjoy faster speeds
