Re: Finally deals from Virgin that rival SKY
There's a poster over on AV Forums in the satellite section that appears to have some good deals for new and existing Sky customers including Sky Q offers.
£56 a month for Sky Q Silver with Movies and Sports included.

Re: Finally deals from Virgin that rival SKY
A few months in and the SkyQ is already heavily discounted! Seem like it's not the runaway success Sky expected it to be.

Re: Finally deals from Virgin that rival SKY
A problem for executives whilst the rest enjoy a decent product with huge discounts a win win for the consumer. Lets hope times get even harder they'll be paying us to take it soon.

I don't know about it being a decent product muppet, with so many problems I've heard from current users. Everything I might want to do on a SkyQ I can already with 2 TiVos and much cheaper.

Re: Finally deals from Virgin that rival SKY
I've had mine months and aside from a few minor issues it's been pretty good and I'm paying less than the cost of two TIVOs but I take your point about multiroom streaming.

Rushing things sometimes is never the best policy in my book and l find its always best to wait until all the bugs and problems have been sorted out.

Re: Finally deals from Virgin that rival SKY
I quite agree denphone, I've never been the type to brandish about what products are out there or what I might have or watched. Similarly I rarely watch anything when it airs on TV, give it some time to settle in before I commit and I've never been disappointed.

The current TIVO and Sky+HD still have bugs as do most other things such as Android phones , Apple etc. Lets see reports when VM launch their new STB I'll guarantee there'll be issues and bugs not picked up in beta there always is.

l quite agree with you MM but l still stand by my original comment that they rush released it to try to get in their first and sometimes that is not always the best option.

The big mistake Sky made with its launch of Q is not having the powerline functionality available from the get go.
Most of the issues you'll see reported are around wifi connectivity of the multiroom box , I have mine connected currently via my own homeplugs and since using this method it's been reliable.
The problem is not every member of the general public knows how to do this hence my belief Sky should have had the onboard powerline functionality available and installers trained with it.

Sky Q has tablet functionality, which the current Tivo doesn't have. Not something I would use, but I get the impression that quite a few people would.

I've used the tablet functionality a few times but I agree not something I'll use whilst at home that often , that said the kids seem to love the tablets despite also having a tv which is strange.
