VirginMedia to invest in content again

Finally VirginMedia to start investing in exclusive content again. They've bought exclusive UK rights to Ash Vs Evil Dead for VOD - and are looking for more.

Always thought it was big mistake when they sold their TV channels.

Re: VirginMedia to invest in content again

Looks like fun, odd that the first 5 episodes are on On Demand though, why not just start broadcasting from the start? Especially with the "Mid Season Break" hiatus we are about to endure.

Re: VirginMedia to invest in content again

The reasons on why they sold their content business is why we are receiving Sky's premium channels now and if l had a choice between the two then there is simply no contest.

It wasn't a big mistake and it helped to resolve the crisis with Sky.

Having said that, it's good to see them resurrecting their interest in content and I hope they make up for lost time.

Re: VirginMedia to invest in content again

I thought a lot of it was down to James Murdoch leaving Sky - he had been more determined than his predecessors to not give cable any advantages - and Tom Mockridge joining from News Corporation - leading to a less antagonistic relationship between the two.
