Virgin spam folder
I use Windows Live for my e-mail, but log in to Virgin e-mail regularly to check my spam folder. This is usually full and often contains mail which is not spam and I have to transfer to inbox.
Since the mail changes, the spam folder has been completely empty and I'm concerned that I could be missing some important mail. (Mail used to appear at random in the spam folder even from completely safe senders.)
Is the spam mail being transferred somewhere else as I can't believe it has completely stopped.

Re: Virgin spam folder
If I remember correctly all spam is now deleted automatically. If you go in to the settings there is an option to change this.
I changed mine and have picked up a few messages that should not have been in there.
Hope this helps.

Re: Virgin spam folder
Thanks Bofrok. I've gone into settings and made the alteration.
Dread to think what genuine messages have been deleted. In the past some fairly important ones were being dumped in the spam folder.

Re: Virgin spam folder
I've had mail from Virgin go in there so I check it every few days. i think after 30 days it still gets trashed automatically as that's a google mail setting, so I guess that will change sooner or later.

Re: Virgin spam folder
Hi admars, to confirm this is on the new email platform where spam gets trashed automatically.
Apologies if I've misunderstood you.

Re: Virgin spam folder
When I log on to the new VM mail I can't even see the spam folder and when I go into settings can't find any mention of spam settings. The only view is of the inbox. I read somewhere about pressing ctrl+ or - to zoom in and out but that doesn't change anything regarding showing other folders. Someone I know is trying to send me some info and having his email bounce back as spam. Any suggestions?

I haven't used my new Virgin email account yet but isn't there a way to add him/his email address to your contacts list?

Re: Virgin spam folder
Just been into Virgin Mail to check spam folder. 5 e-mails in folder, all from genuine, regular contacts, so no idea why they have suddenly been labelled as spam.

Re: Virgin spam folder
Thanks Ken.
Checked again today and a genuine weekly newsletter has appeared in spam. I've gone into settings again and changed my spam selection to 'send to inbox marked as spam'.
I can cope with the small amount of spam it is registering just now, but still wonder where the dozens of spam 'casino, friendly introductions, begging e-mails', etc have gone.
