I could not believe they were spared jail when I read this. Especially given the violence of this assault. I mean the victim's head was stamped on 18 times and repeatedly punched. Anyone who stamps on somebody's head 18 times or carries out this kind of assault should not be walking the streets as a free man IMO.

Perhaps the judge is thinking that these animals would be better off remaining in the army and perhaps he is right.
If you need killers and thugs as a State always will, much better that they are contained in a formal structure such as the army rather than loose on the streets all the time.

I take your point but this happened when they were off duty where there was no Army to oversee them

Hopefully the Army will bin them for bringing the Army into disrepute.
Strange sentencing for such a violent attack.
