So, a new zealand couple got locked in their car.
A couple spent the night trapped in their "keyless" car without the transponder key. They tried to smash the windows, and make as much noise as possible, but apparently no one noticed them until the morning when they were rescued by their neighbours who took them to hospital (the wife was already unconscious, so they did need to go to hospital).
They've since been told they could have used the door handles.
When asked to comment, a spokesperson for Mazda said "It's not a design flaw in the car. There is always a manual process to override new technologies."

Common sense is anything but coming sometimes...

Yet it's becoming quite believable - I got two decent analog oscilloscopes gratis from an R&D department a while ago as they were going to be chucked as "Nobody knows how to use them"
Either could go for several £100's on Ebay.
I could quite believe that a time could come when people have no idea how to operate a handle or knob.

Possibly, but the date on the Poke was 25/03/2015, and the date on the newspaper clipping is in January.
Now, I am not saying that they couldn't have faked it, but I think it would have been a lot more effort than it's worth.
