Changing standard SIM to micro

Does VM allow old PAYG SIMs to be changed from the standard (mini) SIM to micro? We have a few on the Simply 8 tariff but most modern dual SIM phones seem to have at least one micro SIM slot.

Cheers as always.

Re: Changing standard SIM to micro

If you ring them then they can send you one out, don't know if there is a charge for this though. Alternatively you could cut them into Micro SIMs, there's a few templates online if you do a quick search or get a Micro SIM cutter off Amazon

Re: Changing standard SIM to micro

Yes I'd thought about going down that route and checked out some cutters. There are loads available but mixed reviews on how accurate they are. I'd rather not go down the route of ordering from CS unless I have to so maybe I'll give it a try. TVM

I've used a set of cheap ebay SIM cutters and they've worked just fine on 4-5 different SIM cards for different people. It's easy to put it in wrong though so that may be why people are getting "mixed reviews". I've never had a problem.

Yep, I've read loads of reviews written by idiots who haven't got a clue so think I'll order a cutter and try it out on some old SIMs first. Cheers guys.

Re: Changing standard SIM to micro

I cut down one sim and it worked and another which didn't. The older ones if you look at them are different and can't be used on newer phones.
Just order one from CS there is no charge if you don't mind waiting a couple of days, if you want it next day they charge £5.

Re: Changing standard SIM to micro

Just ring them for a new SIM. They don't charge. It comes as a micro SIM and you can easily press out the middle to make it a nano SIM if you want as well.

Re: Changing standard SIM to micro

Cheers guys. The older of my 2 mini sims has much larger metal contacts than the other and doesn't look like it could be cut down without damaging them so if I want to replace this one I'll have to go the CS route.
