possible embarrassing tv question?

Hi friends

My mum bought a luxor tv/dvd device from asda 2 years ago. Long story short we've lost the remote. the tv only has buttons to release any dvd in the dvd drive...

No buttons on either side to change channels or physically turn on...

Any idea what remote i can buy and how i can get the tv to switch on...

Many of the One For All type remotes may do the job. Try looking them up first to see if they will have the coding for your TV

Have you had a look at the ones listed on Amazon? If you know the model number of her set it seems a replacements could well be out there.

You can buy Luxor remotes from Ebay and Amazon.

The cheap (99p Store / poundland) remotes might do it, there are many codes, and you either try a few code number listed for a particular make, or try "hunt mode", where it repeats the same command (usually power off) in every code set it knows.

There are often a couple of code settings that "work", some may result in better compatibility than others.
