That's OK though because we shouldn't expect people to get off their behinds or hurt their feelings if they decide having kids and living life on benefits is what they want out of life. I have far more respect for people who can't work or find themselves in low paid jobs and need state help to make ends meet than those who know how to play the system to their advantage and are very relaxed about letting the rest of us carry them.
I suspect a great many people who're whining about 'poverty' are more familiar with their local pub than they are the breadline...

How many people do you know, even ones doing relatively well, are sitting on piles of cash reserves should they lose their job?
Every body lives to the maximum of their income, no matter what that income is, excluding the "super rich"
If either myself or Mrs Jam got made redundant we'd be reliant on the redundancy payout to see us through until we secured alternative employment, I'm sure that's the same for most and always has been.
You try to mitigate that risk by making yourself employable.

Is it really that rare? I appreciate it's probably under half of people who are employed don't live month to month but I would think that a not insignificant minority do save enough to survive a period of time in the event of a loss of income. Maybe not a lot because if you have a mortgage those savings will be eroded pretty quickly.

We can all get back to some sort of normality.
Dave has driven us all bonkers over the last 5 years. he's mentally drained us in all that time of playing God.
the whole world can recover even.

Agree. He hasn't driven me bonkers so much personally; it's the incompetence of a number of his ministers from the Chancellor downwards that's had that effect.
