He was a superb bass player. I loved his albums with Robin Trower,West,Bruce & Laing as well as Cream.

Very sad, superb bassist.
Brings back memories of when I was a student apprentice living with 70-80 other apprentices in an apprentice hostel. We used to have 3 TV rooms, basically for BBC1, BBC2 & ITV, only the BBC2 room had a colour TV. On the night in 1969 that the BBC broadcast the Cream Farewell Concert the colour TV room was absolutely packed with students wanting to watch this momentous moment.
