Teeside Network Expansion

Great news for Teesiders! Virgin Media today announced it is expanding its network to 5,000 more homes across Teesside, providing internet access at speeds up to 152Mb or eight times faster than the national average.

Work is underway to connect more households in Hartlepool, Darlington, Sunderland and Stockton-On-Tees and is expected to be complete by the end of October.

Interesting. What is the background? Was this an area abandoned in mid-completion by one of VM's hard-up predecessor companies or is it newly dug?

It's too wide an area for it to be a single uncompleted build. Sunderland is in the Wearside (C&W) franchise.

Hmm... Don't think people in Sunderland will be keen on being referred to as Teesside. Also someone might want to check on the spelling of Teesside
