Oh for... (maddeningly intermittent connection)

Hi. I'm having broadband problems (I have 152MB or whatever it's called)

Code:
Downstream Channels

Lock Status Channel ID Frequency Modulation Rx Power RxMER Pre RS Errors Post RS Errors
Locked 28 290750000 Hz 256 QAM 6.7 dBmV 37.9 dB 293 293
Locked 25 266750000 Hz 256 QAM 6.9 dBmV 37.6 dB 298 297
Locked 26 274750000 Hz 256 QAM 6.8 dBmV 37.4 dB 278 278
Locked 27 282750000 Hz 256 QAM 6.9 dBmV 37.9 dB 290 290
Locked 29 298750000 Hz 256 QAM 6.8 dBmV 37.9 dB 278 277
Locked 30 306750000 Hz 256 QAM 6.5 dBmV 37.4 dB 291 291
Locked 31 314750000 Hz 256 QAM 6.4 dBmV 38.3 dB 290 290
Locked 32 322750000 Hz 256 QAM 5.2 dBmV 37.6 dB 298 297

Code:
Upstream Channels
Lock Status Channel ID Frequency Modulation Tx Power Mode Channel Bandwidth Symbol Rate
Locked 5 46200000 Hz ATDMA 48.3 dBmV 16QAM 6400000 Hz 5120 Ksym/sec
NotLocked 0 0 Hz 0 dBmV 0 Ksym/sec
NotLocked 0 0 Hz 0 dBmV 0 Ksym/sec
Locked 6 39400000 Hz ATDMA 46.8 dBmV 16QAM 6400000 Hz 5120 Ksym/sec
It seems sometimes that my broadband works perfectly right until I start to use it. Every few minutes it seems to cut off. On my SH2. the middle icon will disappear and the fourth one down (double-headed arrow) will switch from blue steady to green flashing. Sometimes it will recover on its own - the green arrow will be steady and the blue tick will flash like mad, then they'll settle down as blue and steadyish. More frequently, the green will go steady, the blue tick will flash a few times and then disappear and the green arrow will flash like mad. This will keep repeating. When it can't "lock on" I normally have to reboot the hub.
I've had to disconnect the input cable from the splitter and connect it directly to the hub. This gives me more of a chance to be connected for a while; via the splitter it hardly ever managed a connection.

If I'm doing something else offline (watching freeview or having a meal) I keep an eye on it - it seems to be a steady connection. And them when when I try to go online it'll suddenly cut off again.
I can keep an eye on it via the thinkbroadband site on my mobile - it'll be a perfect connection for most of the afternoon and suddenly cut off as soon as I switch on my computer.

Here's today's graph. Cam you guess what time I started to use it this evening?

My Broadband Ping

(Apologies for any typos - I'm trying to get this uploaded while I still can).
