I know of several people who have excellent distance vision, but very poor close vision, who opted for varifocal lenses that were non-prescription at the top, but with a reading glass prescription at the bottom.

If you want specs specifically for when using a PC or laptop, specify the distance the screen will be from your eyes (within a few inches). It makes all the difference!

I have varifocals for the PC and I cannot get use to them, I move screen closer. My dioptics are 3.5. I am strongly considering on having laser treatment to correct my short sightedness. I would love to go out at night and look up and see the stars without having double glazing to see through.
