SSD compatable mobo

I have an old Asus P5G41T-M skt775 motherboard that is a bit of a workhorse but could do with faster load times. I cant find ACHI (sp) in the BIOS for setting up the SATA port to handle SSD (dont know if I need to do that anyway)
Does anyone know if this board handles SSD drives.

The SSD should work fine on that board, although it will not be as fast as on a newer board because of the Sata interface speeds.

A SSD can be ran in IDE mode although it is best to run it in AHCI and as long as it is being ran in a machine with Windows 7 or 8(.1) then Trim support, should be working to prolong the life of the SSD.

All mobos can handle SSD drives. AHCI is not required but can improve speeds slightly.
