The coalition, or any government in power should say. We will pay private rates for any nursing staff that pays within the NHS. I feel they are worth double wages - full stop, l wouldn't do there job.

Still going on about wages, when the article is actually about staff NOT working on public holidays and having to get extra staff at short notice. Do you ever read the articles or just rant?

This is why you wont get staff to stay at hospital. When l was in hospital, there wasn'tone single English speaking Nurse on the ward.
People are not stupid, if they know they will get a decent wage from private nursing. They will go to it
Its no good people saying where is this money going to come from. The coaliton are quite preapred to allow hospital trusts to pay thousands of pounds per year for pen pushers. Frontline staff on the wards and in A&E should get decent pay. Not agency staff.
|
Not one English speaking nurse, are you sure about that Arthur. Do you actually mean non of the nurses had English as their first language.
There is a subtle difference

Don't hold your breath waiting will you. I may be wrong but I don't recall Arthur ever having answered that question when he's been banging on ad nauseam about public sector wages. There are those amongst us who don't concern themselves with life's little realities.

Hugh, would you work for peanuts, all the coalition has to do is stop billions of pounds being sent to countries, that dont need it.
Stop the expenses paid to MPs.
The money is there to be used.

Nurses do not work for peanuts, they actually get a decent wage when you add up all the extras they get (OT, unsociable hours etc added onto their basic pay).

Re: NHS Hospital Paid £1,800 A Day For Nurse [Bank Holiday Staffing Level]
I dont know any figures, but l know people that work in the NHS, and the hours they work, and the stress they are under. And the pittance of a wage they get.
What people dont realise is that people have to work to live, and yet in the NHS you have some dedicated staff, who think of the patients or the job they do.
We have major hospital's in fear of being shut, but yes, money is pumped into these places, but hospitals are stretched to the limit and at breaking point.
Hospitals need staff, but cannot get it due to the wage structure. This is why they have to employ agency staff which cost a fortune.
What hospitals should do is get the money from the parking fee's and pumped that into staff wages.

More Arthur nonsense.

As below, a qualified nurse starts on Band 5 (£21,478 a year), not exactly peanuts.

So you rant that removing expenses will fix all then admit you don't know the figures relating to expenses

Yet again this is a big fat load of nonsense. The article you linked to simply stated that they were short staffed on a few public holidays and had to get agency staff at short notice. Not that they do not have the staff on a daily basis.

Really?? There will be enough money in parking fees to pay ALL staff more money? You live in a fantasy world Arthur.

So you don't know any figures, but it's a pittance......
MPs non-staff expenses were around £24 million, and if nurses earn around £24,000 per year (roughly averaging out the various grades - the average wage is probably higher, and I'm not including employer costs, which are usually around 25%), that would give us an extra 1,000 nurses, between the 2,300 hospitals in the UK.....

I've an idea. Why doesn't everyone just stop responding to Arthur's puerile drivel so we can all just sit back and enjoy him contradicting and arguing with himself...
