Re: Eastbourne Pier ablaze
Amazing how many pier fires there have been but then some of them are so old and too little is spent maintaining them.

Re: Eastbourne Pier ablaze
It is very sad that Pier's are disappearing bit by bit as Maggy says through a lot of neglect and we will only realise what we had when they are all gone and by then its too late.

Re: Eastbourne Pier ablaze
Fire crews have saved two thirds of Eastbourne Pier after fire destroyed part of the structure, leaving a metal skeleton.
The blaze broke out on Wednesday afternoon behind some wood panelling in the arcade building.
Chief fire officer Des Pritchard said the outgoing tide and low water pressure had hampered crews but their hard work had "paid off".
Fire minister Penny Mordaunt is to visit the pier "as a priority".

Re: Eastbourne Pier ablaze
Might need to ask my brother where he was Wednesday afternoon. He is quite keen on lighting a match and then spraying his Lynx deodorant through the flame.
