Do you watch Russia Today (RT)?

This is not a channel that I watch, so I am seeking the views of those that do.

Members of staff have resigned over claims that the station no longer has editorial independence, which doesn't surprise me with Putin.

This is the latest example :

Have you noticed any changes to this channel over time?

Do you trust it less?

Could things get so serious that this channel is pulled from satellite, Freeview and cable?

Cheers.

I love watching Fox, the O'Reilly Factor is one of the most entertaining things on the TV.

I wish our TV was a bit more like it, instead of being so impartial all the time.

if you want a frothing at the mouth, war mongering, head case, that still think the USA should bomb everyone - it's the show for you.

All jokes aside, RT is very similar to Fox in those kind of ways but nowhere near as bad. Not even close.

It's good to see English speaking channel which is happy to give the US the finger. Getting a proper understanding of any topic needs proper research but unless a person can be bothered to go and do that, their second best option is to read/watch news on a subject from multiple sources and with different views/takes on the situation.

This RT thing would be like the BBC pushing a UK government point of view on something, which would never ever happen

Re: Do you watch Russia Today (RT)?

My lad likes to watch it to try to spot the differences in bias and propaganda between RT, Al Jazeera and the BBC.

He says almost every news channel is 24/7 repetition, assumption and speculation with the odd bit of real news thrown in.

Re: Do you watch Russia Today (RT)?

Yup, that's the problem with 24/7 rolling news - they have to find/create stuff to fill the airtime and even when things are happening there's a hell of a lot of repetition.

Nothing is concise and to the point, every bulletin/story has to have some padding.
I gave up watching any news on tv years ago and now get all mine via the ether.
I don't think there is a totally impartial news station anywhere on the planet, they are all skewed to left, right or ruling party.
