Re: HELP
it is a tricky one because if it was solely the shub at fault then the pc should have worked when you connected it to port 1

The Ethernet Adapter on the PC may not have been left in DHCP mode? Maybe a factory reset of the Superhub is worth a go ..

Re: HELP
I'm not sure it's a DHCP issue as it states media disconnected - which usually means a physical connection issue (usually, not always). If it were a DHCP thing, I'd expect to see an IP address of some kind, even a 169 IP.

Re: HELP
It's certainly an odd one. There's no harm in trying what you suggest, though.
I think there's definitely 2 distinct issues here, though -
1) The PC isn't connecting on any port (I'm guessing a physical issue but as heero_yuy stated, it could just be a reporting issue).
2) The Hub appears to only have one working ethernet port, which implies that its in Modem Mode. OP suggests that it's not though and if they're connecting wirelessly, that would imply that it's running in router mode for sure.

Re: HELP
It is in router mode by default which means all 4 ports on the back should work. When you connect the cable from the shub to the pc have a look at the back on both because you should see a little light some on next to the cable.

Re: HELP
You need to try a different cable, or failing that, make sure you are using the correct type. Even if the cable works, the network card is old enough that it does not support auto-sensing. You need to use a specific type of cable - a straight cable (not crossover). Even then make sure it's in 100Mbps mode because 10Mbps mode will throw things off if it is enabled.

I would make sure the new shub works as expected in its current position esp. regarding the PC issue you had. If it is working ok then try and move it .. although I am not sure what happens re: support if you have issues and you have installed the coaxial extension yourself ..

Do you really need to move the hub? What I mean is, you seem to have an ethernet cable going to the location I presume you're moving it to, anyway? That's just as good, possibly even a better option than laying coax about the place (if you're going to lay coax, you may as well lay ethernet that'll be more useful and give you the same/better end result).
However, the above is correct - try this new hub first and make sure it's working.
