The race - registered as the National Stakes - was over from there and despite wandering slightly, Kevin Manning's mount (2-5 favourite) streaked clear of the running-on Designs On Rome, who ran a huge race in second, to win by four and three-quarter lengths. Leitir Mor was third.

While Strong Suit again disappointed, it was left to Libranno (16-1) to do the business to give Kieren Fallon compensation for his narrow defeat on Face The Problem in the Portland.
Lethal Force and Soul set a strong pace which Libranno quickened off to win by half a length from Pastoral Player, with Lethal Force four lengths back in third and Strong Suit only fourth.
