That's how they can afford to pay journalists and avoid the temptation to have click-bait. Typically there are fewer new stories in The Times on any given day but what they do have is more in-depth or revealing. Certainty better than the AP copy printed in the Guardian or Telegraph accompanied by the
trolling opinion piece about how outrageous x is (x being conservatives or liberals depending on the paper).
