Re: Comcast (Universal, NBC) looks at Fox merger

Now Verizon is showing interest in acquiring parts of Fox
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/artic...tv-film-assets

The Comcast and Verizon initiatives are seen as a reaction to the proposed AT&T-Warner deal which itself is seen as a reaction to Netflix and Amazon Prime. Comcast does have a pre-existing content company (NBC Universal) but Verizon doesn't.

Comcast has its roots in cable TV whilst Verizon and AT&T are the equivalents of BT in America ie traditional telephony, IPTV and mobile businesses.

Interesting times and adds another dimension to the Sky-Fox ongoing situation.
