Just to further clarify - whilst you are using the Scart or RF connections you aren't getting HD out of the box.
This is often what the likes of Currys and Comet do. They don't have HDMI distribution systems so are feeding all the HD Ready sets with an ASD source. Usually a 'proper' HD source will be limited to supplying pics to a single screen.
