How can a shortage of 10,000 doctors be down to lack of funding? It's more to do with a flood of people coming into the country and GPs that only want to work part time eg 1.5 days a week.

You can normally get same day appointments, but for non urgent or pre-arranged follow up appointments then it will be longer.

not a new issue

Market Drayton’s Medical Practice has come under scathing attack online with patients angry at the length of time it takes to see a doctor.
More than 100 comments have been made on the Drayton Crier Facebook page with town residents calling for change following the introduction of the Triage appointment system back in February 2009.
The majority of people claim it takes at least three or four weeks to get an appointment with their doctor while others say it is impossible to see a GP outside of typical working hours.
