Politicians who drop the spin and soundbites lose. The current crop of politicians are riding the populist wave based on giving people what they want or at least promising it to them.

I'm not convinced politicians who tell people they can't have the moon on a stick would do well at the moment.

Post-fact politics isn't much fun for honest people.
