Re: Allotments

Well just been up there checking over stuff, raspberries, blackberries we put in late last year and the loganberries seem deceased, normally they'd cope quite well but the winter was severe and long Put in 5*raspberry canes, 3*redcurrant, 2*blackberry, 2*gooseberries and 3 each of red and green grapes. Planted 10 rocket (1st early new) and 22 Pentland Javelin (1st early) potatoes, still gotta dig over the bed for the 2nd earlies (international kidney (aka Jersey royals) and maincrop (Maris Piper). Strawberries, black/red currants, beans, onions, garlic, shallots and rhubarb all survived the winter well. As it's at the top of the cilterns it was a nice 2 mile walk back down to the village with the doggies .. Now I'm aching, sore and enjoying a nice cup of tea before I do a nice new potatoes, carrots with tuna omelette with a drizzle of bernaise sauce
