I was thinking many fans of live sport might be disappointed, it wouldn't be the same to watch something after the event recorded such as a football match. Say for example you miss 30 minutes and rewind you'd then be out of touch with the event and hear people outside celebrating but you don't yet know the end result?
I think this is quite a mistake on VM's part, Sky boxes and many freeview boxes support reminders. I'm really surprised this feature is missing...

Maybe if enough people complain to VM the update will happen and as soon as possible. I've already submitted my feedback over the phone and by e-mail

I was definitely surprised that the bloke I spoke to and his supervisor were totally unaware...
