Re: ntl to breathe email problem ....

Hi Pem,

well, i'm sort of in the middle of changing from a
freeserve dial-up telephone connection via modem,
to
an ntl cable connection using a broadband 'cable modem'
and i can still use the telephone modem, if i wish.

If i access my e-mail through freeserve(wannabe) using
the dial-up freeserve account, then Outlook Express is
happy to recieve or send from any of the five accounts
once every ten minutes.

So i am pretty sure the settings for the POP3 incoming
and outgoing for all five are correct, except for one,
Dialstart. They have stopped their POP3 interaction.
And yet curiously, i can still send using Dialstart,
but Outlook Express cannot collect mail from them.
I have simply removed Dialstart from 'Recieve' but i
have left it in 'Send'

So if i read you right,
ntl wont interact with Breathe ??
Whats that got to do with Tiscali ?
...Tiscali will restrict access from IP addresses
not on their network
...
Do ntl use some Tiscali network hardware maybe ?
Or does Breathe have to go through Tiscali to get to
ntl ... ?

Whatever the reason,
i take it that i can't configure ntl to interact with
Breathe, would that be right ?
Except, of course, by personally accessing Breathe.com
and manually checking and sending mail.
Which is what i have been doing.

The Breathe address is not mine, it is a friend's who
is not happy about this situation.

Is there any way to configure it ?
Does 'Outlook' operate differently to Outlook Express ?
I might look into a 'script' just for Breathe ....

Curious, and a bit miffed, John
