Re: Rugby Union

Over the years England have lost a good few games having been pretty much in control and then let things slip in a mad few minutes of one sort or another. At the end of the day it's results which go in the record books and for any team to be considered great they have to not only be able to win when they're playing well but also grind out victories when they're not. That's exactly what New Zealand have done over the years and it's that mentality which far more often than not sees them through.

Great rugby isn't just about flowing passes and magical tries, it's also about many other less obvious and not quite so 'attractive' elements of the game all of which contribute to the whole and either create or deny the opportunities for tries but don't often get the recognition they deserve.

I'm delighted with where England are right now and the measure of their progress towards 'greatness' will be how they respond when their winning streak finally comes to an end.
