The BBC legal department stopped them from being able to interview celebs on a car show, as well as not allowing them to have a celeb driving around a track in a car and also not having a full standing audience. Apparently they are all Top Gear attributes which cannot be used.

So that is why there is a line or two of seats in front of a standing audience to get around one of the rules. It's also why the star each week has an accident and fails to make it to the tent.

Not having the star racing and interview bit does change the format from their old top gear but they still make up for it with some good old top gear car eye candy filmography and random stuff imo
