In addition, make sure you give the SH2 an IP address in the subnet range from your main router but outside of the DHCP range. That way you will still be able to access it to change the wireless settings.

e.g
subnet 192.168.0.0/24
SH3 IP 192.168.0.1
SH3 DHCP range 192.168.0.3 - 192.168.0.100
SH2 IP 192.168.0.2
Great advice thanks. This saved me from buying a new WIFI AP.

The THG3000 hub from my new bb provider (vodafone) has terrible wifi coverage, failing to reach my doorbell and a wifi extender both 6m away.
Vodafone do a better hub but the contract that offers it is £10/month more. Virgin don't want their SH2ac back and I knew that it had better wifi.

So I turned off the THG wifi and connected it's LAN2 to the SH2ac LAN1, turned off DHCP on the SH2ac. THG is 192.168.0.1 and SH2ac is 192.168.0.2, just like your suggestion. The two hubs now sit next to each other.

Now my SH2ac gives much better wifi coverage, and the IP addresses are issued by the THG (on wifi and on either SH2ac or THG LAN connections).

I guess this would still work if the THG wifi was ON, but I guess the SSIDs would need changing?
