as stated by Roger Mosey there is no HD feed for them to show, FOM who produce all the races (apart from Monaco and Japan) don't provide a HD feed and don't film it in HD so there isn't much the BBC can do about this.

You can watch the F1 in Cinemas but that is only an upscaled SD picture and not a true HD picture.
