I found using the remote to alter the STB volume is best anyway (code 000 for mine) - it changes the volume from the STB and mutes the STB. If you're using the VM remote you're using the STB surely, so why would you need anything else? I mean, you wouldn't be using the VM remote if watching Freeview through the TV or using a console, you'd be using the TV's remote so why need the VM one to work the volume? My LCD is using a second set of speakers run by a separate amp & altering the volume on the TV alone leaves these speakers with sound which is no good, but using the remote to alter the STB volume does both, obviously. I find I don't use the TV remote at all now unless to switch the TV on and off and for switching from TV to console/DVD/STB. Can someone tell me what benefit I'd gain from having the remote change the TV volume rather than the STB output? I might try harder to find a code if so.
