Virgin Media setup

Hi all,

I was wondering if I could get some advice. I was asked to help setup virgin media for my mother, as a doctor my mother has always been opposed to wireless, and thus frankly refused to have it in the house. Here in is where the problem begins...

She lives in a 3 bedroom house (1 room dedicated for her study), now at the moment she has broadband (superhub)/phone/tv downstairs. We also have a the same phoneline split upstairs, with a broadband/tv point as well (from previous occupiers who had tv in their main room). Now normally I would just run an ethernet cable from the hub upstairs; the problem is that we would need an extremely long cable and we are trying to look for alternatives (Even at a higher cost... ).

So I rang virgin media up and asked is it possible to have two super hubs? I was told no, I then asked is there anyway of purchasing a second internet line to run upstairs as the box/cabling is already installed upstairs and was told no....

Following on from this I looked into virgin media adsl, but I was simply told no once again... with the excuse that there can only ever be one internet line...

I looked round for other providers, but all seem to want us to take out a different line rental or dont work with virgin media....

Is there any suggestions to this work around? Or is ethernet cable trawling the only way? Are there any adsl providers who could connect from our virgin media phone socket and not be affected by the fact we have virgin media braodband....?

Any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
