signal help

Hi im after some help, hopefully someone can help

I recently moved into a shared house, which has no roof aerial which i am aware but does have a satellite dish (no sky contract) which allows freeview to be received through the lounge.

I have a tv in my room which is being used with an indoor aerial and recieves a reasonably good signal picking up around 15-20 chanels. i decided to buy a freeview recorder (Logik). My issue is i cant pick up any signal through the recorder, ive tried multiple ways of connecting and using an additional signal booster and still no signal what so ever.

Any suggestions?

Re: signal help

I tend to find indoor aerials to be very poor,in my area at least, even with a booster. You say there is a satellite dish outside your house so I would suggest you should buy bought a FREESAT box which will give you most of the channels available on freeview plus some that aren`t.

Re: signal help

The performance between different makes & models of receiver can be very significant with regard to reception sensitvity, which is why it is always preferable to use an outdoor aerial. The fact that you are only getting 15 to 20 channels may mean the reception you are getting is from a low power relay transmitter, which will compound set top antenna problems.
