Online light flashing for 2 days now, & spontaneous reboots. Faulty V+ box?

Hi guys, I've come to ask whether I need to report this, or is it likely to be an area problem.

Happily been using our V+ box for about 14 months now. Annoyed that the box can't keep time (so we reboot about once a week to set the clock right), but other than that, all OK.

Came home yesterday to find the on-line light on the front of the box flashing. After about an hour, I decided to reboot, so that it would have time to reconfigure before we sat down to watch.

We rebooted, but once the box came up, the on-line light continued to flash. My son set the box to record the Harry Potter movie. At about 8:30 p.m. the box just rebooted itself (I daren't tell my son his movie will have an interruption).

Once the box came back up, the light was solid, but by this morning the blessed thing was flashing again. We don't watch TV in the daytime, but my husband set about copying some programs to the PC from the V+ box. Half way thru the recording, the ruddy box has rebooted itself AGAIN. I threatened it that if it failed during the Grand National, I'd bin it !!!

It has come up again, but the sodding on-line light is flashing again.

Do I have to get an engineer to this ??

Hi there, you can check if there is a local issue by calling the service status line on 08005610061. If there is no local issue then give tech support a ring on 151 from a virgin phone or 08454541111 from any other phone and they may be able to fix it remotely or they may have to send an engineer to the property.

Thanks Ben. There are no issues in our area right now apparently, so I'm working myself up to ring tech support. Of course it's a weekend, so I'll get into the language barrier zone if I ring today (I know these guys in India are doing their best, but I do find it a struggle). I might wait until Monday. I'm working at home this week, so I could try ringing them on monday morning.....

You could try posting on our VM Community Forum? Our 2nd line team monitor and can book you a tech if needed.

Your box has no return path and rebooting is normal, sounds like a signal issue
