I watched it live and i couldn't believe it. It's usually saints that do things like this... it was quite incredible.

There has been some great games already this season.

---------- Post added at 00:12 ---------- Previous post was at 00:10 ----------

It was a great kick under pressure to win it as well, by the way.

lucky then..........;)

went toe to toe with the whineo's, but they were a but more clinical and fitness showed in the last 10 alas it ended 16-44 but think that the score flattered them a bit as they never dominated us. but all in all 200% over last week, this year is gonna be tough but if the performance and effort is there then the loss is easier to stomach.

also ganson is still a cock

have you changed name on rlfans again? either that or there is an internet doppleganger who said the exact same thing there ;)

was there and.....(insert swear word of choice here)ing get in there, about time. :D, reading around the pies are none to happy. but to come from 18-6 down to 18-18 at h/t and then 36-18 and yet again bring it back to 36-36, well it was the stuff we crave. not helped by the incompetent whistler - did his best to give them a helping hand through out as well.

The BBC has agreed a new television rights deal that will see it continue as the principle broadcaster of the Carnegie Challenge Cup for the next five years.

Under the new agreement, rugby league's oldest and most prestigious knockout competition will remain on the BBC until 2016.

The BBC will also broadcast live matches in the fourth and fifth rounds of the competition, along with the quarter-finals and semi-finals for the duration of the contract.

RFL chairman Richard Lewis said: "The Challenge Cup has a rich heritage and I am delighted that the competition's long association with the BBC is to continue.

"The visibility and profile afforded by the sport's presence on the BBC and the BBC iPlayer is hugely important and we look forward to working with the BBC as they showcase all the excitement and drama from the Carnegie Challenge Cup and Stobart Super League."

Not impressed with that. There useless at covering it now so they will be useless going forward. The BBC was that bad last year that they had you changing from BBC1 to BBC2 at half time to continue watching the second half of the game.

I was at the game, It was funny to watch Smith rip then a new A after about 20 mins at the side line. However it worked because after that it was like a switch had been flicked and the difference was marked to say the least.

that's a toughie that one. on one hand we were toe to toe, but when a few things went their way they started to click a bit. but if nothing else that game showed that without roby saints are spangles.

on our forum there are a few suggestion that we were partially robbed.

1. final ball for wellens first try was a mile forward - he had to reach right back to get it. child was right on the spot but is as blind premiership linesman - in fact he needs the whistle inserting where the sun don't shine.

2. in the lead up to saints 3rd try (sure it was the 3rd) hohia blatantly obstructed - he even looked round to see where our man was, ref was gonna blow but bottled it..............not for the first time.

there is just a couple of points that may have had the scores chalked off, now no way to say how they may have affected the game but you never know. all i do know is that is the best we have played in patches since the cough *pie* cough game and maybe deserved a bit more for the efforts.

I went to the final last season, not to tempt fate, but if we get there again I will definitely be going. It's about £20 for a pint at wembley iirc :P

I was joking about it being £20! It's expensive though.

But Widnes are a very poor team, all the top teams will beat them easily........:disturbd:

:)

I have a bad feeling about tomorrow, i think saints will be up for it after us chucking them out the cup.

The magic weekend should be setup so teams of equal ability play each other and in this case it should be Wigan V Warrington. Looking at the team lineup from yesterday it was plainly obvious we rested players and still did what we did, That is not good for the game to be honest. The magic weekend is a showcase event and games like that do not show it in his best form.

Yet again Gareth Hock shows he's a thug, Last year it was eye gouging this year he thinks he's a boxer.

The bloke is a nutter, its a shame because he is such a good player, probably our best player so far this season.

What i don't understand is why the ref has sent Tuson off? If it was for retaliation surely that means McCarthy-Scarsbrook should have gone for retaliating to Hock? I thought a couple of yellow cards would have sufficed for what happened, instead it killed the game off.

Anyway, another win against saints and back at the top of the table where we belong :)
