Hidden price hikes - now uncompetitive

Has anyone noticed that VM have introduced a policy of rounding up calls to the nearest minute on calls from their landlines. I know they did this on their mobiles a while back but just saw a hike in my call costs recently a lot of this down to short calls to mobiles which now cost a lot more as a result.

I see the connection charge is also going up in Oct to 12p.

I also see they are still charging for 0845/0870 on most call packages including Talk Unlimited even though BT and many competitors now include these on the same equivalent bundles.

Looks like they are trying to get some profit of what I presume is a decreasing market for fixed line calls. Uncompetitive practices like this will encourage me to use my non-Virgin mobile more and more!

We have one of their Talk anywhere 200 packages which saves us at least £10pcm. For £9 we get 200 minutes of calls per month to any number except overseas/premium. As we call family on (non virgin) mobiles this is a great saving, with the added advantage of knowing exactly how much our bill will be each month.
