Tributes are being paid to actor Richard Hatch, who has died from pancreatic cancer at the age of 71.
He was the only actor to appear in both the original series of Battlestar Galactica and its more recent reboot.
Hatch played Captain Apollo in the original sci-fi series and a different character - Tom Zarek - in the reboot from 2004 to 2009.
Goodbye Captain Apollo..

Oh, no!

A few years ago I was at Cult TV, when Richard attended and talked about a Galactica revival - newly evolved Cylons, Apollo commanding the Galactica, and the prospect of rescuing Starbuck; he showed us a trailer for the proposed series for which he was trying to get backing.

It received a standing ovation. I don't think there was anyone not clapping. It could've been great.

May the Lords of Kobol keep you, Captain.

I recently purchased the old box sets of BG never did like the new ones. I hope when/if the new BG film does make an appearance they base it off the old one.

Hatch appears in the forthcoming film Diminuendo, written and directed by Bryn Pryor and also starring Chloe Dykstra, Leah Cairns, Gigi Edgley and Walter Koenig. On Twitter, Pryor said he wrote the sci-fi drama for Richard “to showcase his incredible talent in a way that had never been seen”.
RIP Apollo.
