For the time being (?) we have to ignore any Atlantic shows ;)

Cheers, good link.

I've got last night's Low Winter Sun recorded so will give it a go later, and the first series of Top Boy was very good so hopefully series 2 will be worthwhile.

Low Winter Sun started well I thought, if you can get past Lennie James awful American accent!

I'm going to give Chickens (on Sky 1, 22/8/13 AT 2130hrs) a go. Sky's comedy has been a bit hit and miss but when they've got it right it's been decent. Channel 4 passed on this so will be interesting to see if Sky have got one over on them.

Bates Motel, Universal (probably not in HD but that's for another thread!!!) 2100 hours, 12th September. Obviously related to Psycho and already renewed for a second series.

I watched Low Winter Sun- thought it was ok- i have set a series link- worth another look.

Under the Dome starts on channel 5 Monday 19 August. This is quite good- i am watching this currently on CBS via a VPN.

Republic of Doyle starts again on Alibi (Monday 2 September)- this is a great show. Canadian private detective with a touch of humour- i like it.

True Blood returns to FOX Monday 30 September.

I am a bit of a US tv fan- there are some interesting shows due to premiere in new Fall Season. One show i am looking to see which Uk channel picks it up is ABC's Marvels Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D (premieres in the States 24 September)

Channel 5 are rumoured to have secured the broadcast rights to marvels agents of shield in the united kingdom. According to an article i found on geektown.co.uk that someone posted up on that website.

We might found out at the end of this week because this thursday 22nd til 24th August 2013 its the edingborugh television festival from the guardian newspaper. Bosses from BskyB, UKTV, BBC, ITV, CHANNEL 4, CHANNEL 5 and DISCOVERY etc will be there.

.

Well if they do get it, they'd better not treat it like Person of Interest, where we are a full season behind in the UK.

One thing you can say in Sky's favour is that they started the trend of showing US shows close to the US air date. which they do for many of their US acquisitions. They are still behind on a few though; e.g. why have they only just started showing the third season of Nikita?

I will be pleased if any channel i can get acquires S.H.I.E.L.D as long as i can watch it though it would be nice if i can watch it not long after it airs in the US and not 6-12 months later- I might have to watch via VPN if not.

i agree Persons of Interest is a great show as well - i only stumbled upon it by chance- Channel 5 gave it no promotion at all. Hopefully the next season should be on C5 before too long along with Sons of Anarchy.

Re: Virgin TV (What's on soon)

Some new series I will be recording next week include 'What Remains' (BBC1 Sunday 9pm); 'Place of Execution' (ITV3 Monday 10pm); 'Wentworth Prison' (Channel 5 Wednesday 10pm).

Some films worth seeing (in my opinion) are 'Jack Reacher' (Sky Premiere Saturday to Thursday 8pm); 'Haywire' (Sky Crime/Thriller Saturday 9pm); 'Lockout'(Sky Showcase Wednesday 11.35pm); 'Tower Heist' (Sky Comedy Wednesday 9.30pm).

Those of you with TIVO boxes devoid of sufficient recordings might like to set this lot to record and if you do this every week, you will soon find that you are running out of space!

Incidentally, my list does not include some of the stuff my wife likes, which will include next week 'Vera' (ITV Sunday 8pm); 'Cold Comfort Farm' (Drama Sunday 11pm);'The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2013' (BBC1 Monday 6.30pm); 'Anna Kerenina' (Sky Premiere Friday to Thursday 9pm).

Works for me too, but it may be a regional fault. What happens for you?

I set the series link. Tried both methods quick and long winded. The series link logo does not appear next to the programme but in manage my series links the programme link is there but in planning it's not. I have had to set the programme to record on it's own. Did a reboot thinking it was a fault with the box but no change.

So what do you get if you try to view Upcoming episodes from Manage My Series Links?

Is there anyone else in the Midlands who can try this?

I get the info list of the different channels it's going to broadcast on but it does not highlight the episodes that are series linked. I have had to manually do it. Not a major problem unless I start to loose my memory and forget to record it. Can't find episode one anywhere to view as I was on holiday. Does anyone know where I can get it?

It'll probably end up on Sky when they realise how popular it's become on C4.

...and it will probably be cancelled pretty quickly when they realise how expensive it will be to produce. If it doesn't get fifty million viewers per episode it will lose out to yet another cheap reality tv show.

You could use a WishList instead. That will work even if the links are broken.

Not my cup of tea from the looks of it, but Channel 5 do actually have some decent programming in amongst the dross. Have now seen the first two episodes of Under the Dome and so far there's enough for me to stay with it.

Celebrity Juice returns tonight, ITV2 HD, Virgin channel 176 at 2200hrs.

Peaky Blinders starts on BBC Two on the 12th September.

"This epic gangster drama is set on the lawless streets of Birmingham on the cusp of the 1920s. Starring Hollywood actor Cillian Murphy in his first major TV role, this original six-part BBC2 series is sure to be a hit with fans of Scorsese’s Boardwalk Empire. The title comes from the name of a violent gang, notorious for using razors hidden in the peaks of their caps as weapons."

I agree with your comment on the Ch 5 programming, Andy. I do record stuff from that channel, which is more than I can say at the moment for Sky 1 which we have to pay for!

Channel 4 is to become the new UK terrestrial television home of the NFL and Super Bowl as part of a two-year agreement with the NFL. http://www.nfluk.com/opinions/articl...tv-home-nfl-uk

thanks for the info mate.I am happy with Channel 4 (HD) coverage. i see it says Channel 4 have exclusive terrestrial rights in the UK for NFL. That means BBC wont have MNF.

That isnt that much of a loss imo - i thought the BBC didnt present it well. Sticking on he Red Button when they could just as easily put it on BBC2 HD or even BBC3 or BBC4.

As ESPN hold the US rights to MNF ,and with Sky showing 2 earlier Sunday games, and go out on a limb and suggest MNF will be on ESPN UK (in HD!!)
free if you have the XL pack :)
