Wall socket wiring

Well, wife did some decorating while I was working away, pulled the network socket from our bedroom wall and disconnected the wiring! phoned virgin for advice, they now want £75 to come out and reconnect the socket. Thought I'd do it myself,
there are 8 wires,

blue/white, white/blue
green/white, white/green
brown/white, white/brown
orange/white, white/orange

can anyone advise me please?

Thanks in advance

Re: Wall socket wiring

Is this an extension socket, or the master?

If an extension, find the master socket and carefully release that without disturbing the wires. Then simply match the connections from the master to the extension.

Hi Rob,
The wiring comes from the Brown box outside on the wall, I've not had the cover off that yet

Ah so this will be the master telephone socket. Technically customer's aren't supposed to fiddle with the connection wiring in that as it would breach telecoms regulations.
