Talk International 600% price rise!!

Prices have increased. New Zealand landlines have gone from 2.94p a minute to 20p a minute. We only found out when we got our most recent bill!!

The only prices online are still the old ones here

Apparently they are updating prices but not yet done it. It took me forever but they are refunding the £28 overspend. And we will start using 18185 at 2p a minute as 20p a minute is rubbish. (The bods in NZ do not have a reliable connection for Skype otherwise we would be using it).

Re: Talk International 600% price rise!!

Update...

Any one who is changing contracts (eg by getting a Tivo box like we did recently you change contract) comes off the old Talk International contract. So you are now being charged the new super high rates as listed in the 1st August 2011 price list, even if you have been on Talk International for years like us. "Existing" customer prices is only for people who are sat on old contracts and never change them in any way, as soon as you change anything you are off it and stuck with the new rubbish prices.

"Secret" Talk International Packages

These are not online and only available by phoning up and asking for them. Why I don't know.

£5 a month (ie £3 a month extra on your current deal) gets you 250 minutes a month to your nominated international countries including mobiles (we have chosen USA & NZ).
£10 a month (ie £7 extra) gets you 1000 minutes.
Unused minutes will roll over for one month.
If you exceed your included minutes then you will be charged at the new customer Talk International rates listed in the 1st August 2011 price list

Hope that helps. If any one from Virgin can confirm the accuracy of this information it would be appreciated, as there is no information on line and apparently even though I have contracted to a new service I will not be sent anything in writing about what the service terms and conditions are.
