We’re on our second rescue dog (previous pooch was a collie/lab/?? mix, and lived to 15), and the current methane producer is 15 later this month, but we’re not confident he’ll reach that milestone, due to various ailments… We’ve agreed we’ll have a couple of years off, as we’ve got a couple of road-trips we’d like to do before I hit 70 in 3 years - probably get another rescue after that. |

Some keys on my PC's wireless keyboard have stopped working. Fitted new batteries and a reset.
Generally all the same area so I guess a scan line has packed up. I'll need to open it up and see if there's a dry joint somewhere. If push comes to shove I do have a conventional wired keyboard that I could use. |
Im so sorry buddy.I hope things get working again for ya!!

Re: Moans and Pet Hates - Part 8
Where do I start.
As you may know I'm my dad's full-time carer, on Monday he go out of bed to use the commode, and as I got into bed he had bad diarrhoea, and I put him on the commode to clean him, but he then wanted to get back in to bed, but had no strength in his legs, and said he would flop on to the bed. That was a disaster, so now he's kneeling on the floor, and can't move. I pressed the emergency button and someone was coming to help, I also called mt sister who came over. The guy tried and couldn't get him back into bed, so a lift team was send for, but this took 2 hours and my dad had to lie on the floor. The lift team managed to get him back to bed. He was put on a virtual ward. On Tuesday I popped to my charity while my sister sat with our dad, my sister called me home so i left, we got a call from the VW and they wanted to admit our dad, but the ambulance crew did their test and said his states are OK, and my dad didn't want to go into hospital. So in the end he stayed at home a 2 carers 4 times a day was arranged. Now he's on a pill "Metformin" which can cause diarrhoea. which is being looked in to. He's currently bed bound, so I'm having to learn the best way to change the bed sheet on my own. On another note, I found out my 96 year old neighbour died just after Christmas, his funeral was today and packed, its possible a former England manager was their as their late bother was a friend of the family. |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates - Part 8
Sorry to hear about your dad Hom3r. It sounds like you are doing as much as you can to help him and be there for him. I hope that carers or hospitals have put a good plan in place to help him, but also to help you as you cant do everything.
My moan of the day is that I am still getting severe anxiety pains as I am being framed for things I have not done and this is breaking me. My whole life and job is going to be ruined if this person keeps doing this to me. I litterally have lies and lies being sent my way. Allegations and allegations against me. A typical example....injuries from a fall my partner had a few years back are now being twisted to say that I caused them. It is absolutely vile and I cant understand how people who do this can sleep at night! . |
Re: Moans and Pet Hates - Part 8
Well my dad appears to be getting back to normal.
On Thursday me and my sister where able to get him to stand while we changed his bedding and underwear. He's been signed off the Virtual Ward, and carers. But now on community nursing who will liaise between us and our doctors and services he needs. |

People 'reaching out to me', or accuse me of 'reaching out to them'. We should all keep our hands to ourselves and converse in English!

That’s a shortening of a Cockney Rhyming Slang phrase, which is a made-up language… ;) |

We just had to have our 15 year old Dalmatian (Denzel) put to sleep today - all four of us (myself, wife, 35yo daughter, & 32yo son) were in the back room with him, holding him as he passed away.
He was a rescue dog (we had him for just over eleven and a half years), and he brought such joy to three generations of our family - his health had deteriorated since he snapped his cruciate ligament last March, and as stated earlier this month in this thread, his health was getting worse, and for the last month he could hardly use his back legs, and had to be supported with a harness for walks and pooing & weeing. He’s at peace now, and no more pain - I loved him so much, and will miss him more, but part of the deal you have with your pet is knowing when it’s time to let them go, so they don’t suffer. RIP Denzel https://www.cableforum.uk/board/atta...8&d=1706628707 |
