I would have thought so.

Re: Up date Drivers
It's one of the things you should keep on top of. Outdated drivers can cause problems.

Re: Up date Drivers
Is this not covered by Windows Updates and if not how do we go about it? :dozey:

Re: Up date Drivers
If not covered just go to the manufacturers website and download from there.

Re: Up date Drivers
If you must use Windows but aren't 100% sure how to best avoid getting your machine compromised, the best pieces of advice I can give anyone are these points:
1) If the update request box is flashing, and especially if you see yellow and black exclamation marks, never EVER obey it. 2) If a website invites, asks or flashes at you to do something to your computer, don't ever click on that, especially if it is warning you that you "have a virus". 3) Make sure updates are installed from within the control panel. It's a good idea to check your system for updates every time you turn on the PC if you're unsure. That allows you time to reboot if needed, without it randomly asking you when you least expect it. |
Re: Up date Drivers
Note that when you download some new drivers for devices, e.g. printers.. you may have to uninstall the old one first.

Re: Up date Drivers
I'd be worried about what is giving the message, as it's usually something up to no good, unless you've chosen to install a driver updater.

Re: Up date Drivers
This is really interesting

Re: Up date Drivers
Personally I use IOBit Driver Booster Pro that does it all automatically. There is a free version which will automatically update approx 90% of your drivers and just leave 10% for you to do manually.

Seen a few places around the internet that offer to update drivers and even show that your pc is missing loads but then I have read people say these have messed up their system? |

Re: Up date Drivers
I'm giving it a go now. free one seems ok but a bit on the pricey side at £18 a year and thats with a 70% discount. not sure it would be worth the £70+ though
