Hmmm there are many who can't afford the Pay TV channels so this is the only way they can access those highlights.

You are contradicting yourself there Mr K as the BBC's remit is to satisfy the many different strands of viewers and listeners who all want to watch something different don't you agree?.

It`s not so much the program they should axe but the over paid ex footballer that presents it. Anyone could do his job for a fraction of the cost. And while we`re at it many other presenters like Graham Norton who must be the least funny guy on the television at present.

Not got unlimited funds though Den, The highlights cost £211 million of licence payers money ! Would it be better spent elsewhere?

Possibly true, but we don't know how much Sky/ITV celebs get.... So the Beeb might just be paying the going rate, but have to be open about it.

Spent over 3 years and its not much more they paid for this contract then the previous one.

Their remit is to satisfy all strands of viewers and that includes sports viewers who cannot afford the Pay TV subscriptions and there are many of them.

True but Sky can afford it but the bbc can`t. Also, your`e not forced to pay for sky to watch tv but you are forced to pay the bbc if you want to watch tv even if you never watch any bbc channel

Sky customers might be interested to know that all Sky Sports channels are now being offered for £8 pm for 18 months:

Whilst there's no live football, you could cancel if out of contract. I bet you get a good offer to stay, possibly at the time of cancelling.

Someone I know said that Sky had put something on their website to say that the Coronavirus was causing them problems.

Probably, but they can't stop people cancelling if they are out of contract.

Even those that are could argue that the service they signed up to has materially changed to such an extent that this amounts to a breach of contract.

When the UKTV channels dissappeared from Virgin Media, they tried to use their get out clause of 'All channels are subject to change', but some were successfully able to leave using this method.

But we are talking generally about customers who are under contract Richard.
