I might pick one or two up to use as light switches.

(Incidentally they are actually cheaper than a basic light switch off Amazon)

I'd buy one and get my mum to solder the GPIO connector as she has in her last job she passed her MIL-Spec soldering course with 100% :D

Version 3 has just been released today. Changes are as follows

A 1.2GHz 64-bit quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 CPU (~10x the performance of Raspberry Pi 1)
Integrated 802.11n wireless LAN and Bluetooth 4.1
Complete compatibility with Raspberry Pi 1 and 2

Shame it doesn't have more than 1GB of RAM but I believe thats a technical limitation of the CPU architecture so it wont be surpassed for a while. I like to have my Pi multi-purpose but while I'm not using it for a specific purpose It is my media player plugged into the TV and these things work best with a little more RAM though the increased CPU speed will help massively and the built in wireless will be great.
