PSN 'Portable ID' now available

You can now get an official 'Portable ID' from the Euro forums, and it now shows the last thing you played online.

Still not exactly a Gamercard equivalent, but a step in the right direction!

Now if only they'd integrate Trophy support, we wouldn't need to add them manually to a Playfire card!

On the my games page of the portable id pages it says the following
"Over time, the Portable ID will evolve to include Trophies and achievements, so keep an eye on eu.playstation.com for updates. "

So hopefully you wont need to add them manually for too long. ;)

Ah, you beat me to it! I was gonna post this earlier but forgot.

Very good move :tu:

Hopefully won't be too long before Sony add Trophies etc., & it will finally compare to the XBL Gamercard more.

Portable IDs have actually been available for a good few months now, but only if you signed up to the official US forums (PlayStation Underground) & linked your PSN ID to your forum account there.

These new ones are nicer though :)

US:

UK/EU:

There's a lot more to it too than just Portable IDs... they've finally done away with the various logins on the US & UK/EU sites, & made it so that you only use your PSN ID to sign in.

No more separate forum login for PlayStation Underground - PSN ID does everything on the US site now.

No more separate login for the main UK/EU site, while using the PSN ID for the forums - PSN ID does everything now.

You can also check your Friend List on the official UK/EU site now - very handy. Hopefully they'll add the ability to send messages via the website.

[You could check your Friend List on the web a while back by using a PlayStation Underground account on the US site linked to your PSN ID, as with the US Portable IDs. The new way is simpler though, & looks better.]

This is mine

Is that something to do with the About me thing on your PSN on PS3 ? I noticed it wanted me to login to PS3 to complete that.

Just a "Favourite Game" drop-down menu isn't it...

Actually, I was wrong there. The game displayed is your selected 'favourite' I believe, and not the last thing you played online.

Still, it clearly will be at some point; if they're going to show Trophies, then information like last game played will surely be available.

It's just a shame it's taking them so long to put something together. It really should have been available at the same time Trophies were introduced.
