V6 box with low sound

Hello, can anyone help? I have the new virginmedia v6 TiVo and have to turn my Samsung curve TV from normal sound 10 hearing to 24+ to hear anything !

When I use the TV without V6 the sound is perfect on 10, it's also perfect when playing blu rays.....

I changed my tv settings - audio to amplified (I think)
And it's much better

Check sound output is set to pcm and not dolby digital. That has a higher dynamic range and can mean sounds are quieter.

Changed my TV sound settings to pcm as suggested and it worked thank you
