It means any cats beyond that point will have their eyes removed. Cats won’t be able to find the little mice so they’ll be very happy.

Cats eyes are the British term for the retroreflective road stud.

Iirc American ones don't sink in the road and get a little wash from rain water when cars go over them, the guy who invented them was saved crashing due to the reflection off of a cats eyes, it's why he called them that rather than retroreflective road stud again iirc

I'm not sure about the saved from crashing bit, but they were named after the way real cats eyes reflect light, and built & sold using the Catseye trademark.

Apparently one person has been killed by one.

On the morning of 25 April 1999 on the M3 motorway in Hampshire, England, a van dislodged the steel body of a cat's eye which flew through the windscreen of a following car and hit electronic musician Kemistry, who was a passenger, in the face, killing her instantly.

Neither a picture nor a sign, but a kick in the teeth for managers complaining about the current lack of work ethic:

No context at all, so a little bit meaninless.
You could probably do selective pictures (allegedly) from papers to make any point (or disagree with one). ;)

Um, the point was that they've been saying it since 1937! I thought it was obvious! :p:
