New sky sports player error
 

Ever since I had to install the new sky sports player on my laptop error code 1949 pops up every 20 mins and terminates what I'm watching.Anyone else have this problem?.Suspect its a bug in the programming but trying to watch football or rugby is a joke as every 20 mins you lose picture and have to sign in again usually just as a try or goal is going to be scored!!.God knows how I could watch the cricket over 9 hrs,potential 27 re-signins for the sports player!!:mad:

Not the only one having this issue, someone updated his and the problem went away.

Looks like sky have updated their Sky Sports player app without testing it properly. Lots of people having the same error (1949) after 20 mins.

Lots of people having this problem according to another forum.Some guy on there was promised a fix by midnight 21st,just run the player to test and it timed out after 20 mins with the 1949 error.

The fault for sky sports has just got removed from the service status page

Just tried the player again at 3_10 pm timed out with error code 1949 at 3-30 pm,doesnt seem to be fixed yet

I'd be very annoyed if I were paying all that money for Sky Sports and this was happening.

Is this only affecting VM customers?

Trying to watch football on sports player,already had the error twice,starting to wear a bit thin now

Had this the other night, glad it's not just me. Got really annoying after a few times.

I have fixed it on my desktop. I just installed the the app again and it seems to have cured the problem for me.

Using the app today to watch cricket,didnt time out on me once,hope its fixed now.I did re install it at the beginning so maybe that's how to fix it? Anyway should never have been released like that in the first place,caused grief to hundreds of people judging by reports on this and other forums.We should not have to put up with bad service and lack of information / secrecy from virgin and sky.Bet if I was late with my payments to them id soon hear about it!
